Local immunisation services
Northern Sydney Medicare Local sends timely reminder to parents
With changes to immunisation legislation announced this week in the NSW parliament, Northern Sydney Medicare Local is sending a timely reminder to parents or guardians of children (up to age of 7), on how to access local childhood immunisation services, if required.
For parents or guardians unsure about which immunisations their child (up to age of 7) may have had they can contact the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register on 1800 653 809, otherwise they can speak to their General Practitioner (GP).
In the event a child is due their immunisation or an immunisation has been missed, parents or guardians can take their child to:
- Their local GP who can provide advice and administer vaccines based on the NSW Schedule of Immunisation
- The City of Ryde hosts immunisation clinics on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month (except during December) at 1A Station Street West Ryde. No appointment is necessary and the cost is $4.50 per child. Visit www.ryde.nsw.gov.au for information or contact the Co-ordinator on 9952 8268
- Ku-ring-gai Council holds an immunisation clinic on the third Wednesday of each month at the Council Chambers. This is a drop-in clinic and no appointment is necessary. For more information visit www.kmc.nsw.gov.au or call 9424 0834.
