Nursing Patients with an Intellectual Disability course

Nursing a person with an intellectual disability requires advanced clinical assessment skills, a multidisciplinary approach to health care, an understanding of relevant legal issues, good communication skills and familiarity with behavioural and mental health co-morbidities.

Australian College of Nursing is hosting a two day course which will address preventative health measures and health management of people with intellectual disabilities and their carers in a comprehensive way.

This will take place on 17 18 September at the Australian College of Nursing, Burwood.
