New version of the Canning Tool

New version of the Canning Tool

A new version of the Canning Tool has just been released. The new version 4.12 is now available directly from within the previous version 4.11 when one of the clinical software buttons is clicked at start-up.

A dialogue box will appear advising the user of the new version, at which point the tool can be upgraded quickly and easily. If you are upgrading from an older version or are installing the tool for the first time, or would just like a copy of the installer file for your USB stick, the tool can also be downloaded from the website here.

The tool is still free! Release notes are available and can be downloaded on the right hand column of this page. Here is a quick summary of some of the changes:

The main change is a major upgrade to the Seasonal Influenza Vaccination (SIV) indicators.
Three new indicators added to the Chronic Disease Self Assessment (CDSA) report.
The CDSA report can now be run at the same time as the main import.
An APCC Diabetes Risk Assessment Tool (DRAT) filter that shows just the patients without diabetes, aged 40-49, who have a Diabetes Risk Assessment score greater than or equal to 12.
Medical Director 2 and Medical Spectrum buttons have been removed.
The SQL Query Tool can now export to a CSV file instead of just Excel.
Item numbers values updated in Income Estimator.
Simplified the process that converts the ODBC source to point to the MD3 Samples database instead of the main database (for in-house testing at MLs).
Fixed the upgrading process so that it should now work on all operating systems.
Fixed the traffic light that appears orange instead of green when there are no duplicate patients at all in the CDSA report.
A number of significant changes to the way the CDSA and SIV modules work with MedTech.
