Immunisation Taskforce update

Immunisation Taskforce update

On 21 August NSML held the second Immunisation Taskforce meeting at head office in Thornleigh. On this occasion we welcomed two new members to our taskforce, Kate Walther who is a Community Representative and also Hannah Pelham who is our Childcare representative. We also welcomed Rhonda Smith, our Aboriginal Health Care Coordinator and Sharyn Cumming, Executive Manager from Chesalon Aged Care Facility, who were unable to attend but have agreed to join our taskforce.

Hannah and Kate brought a fresh perspective from a consumer point of view and also identified a need for immunisation education within childcare facilities.

The Public Health Unit, Ryde and Ku-ring-gai Council and general practice provided an update for members. The taskforce agreed to appraise a number of resources for local development. Members' responses are being collated and will be collectively fed back to the taskforce committee at our next November meeting.
