After Hours Grants

NSML is seeking applications from all health care service providers including General Practices, Medical Deputising Services, Pharmacies and Diagnostic services (Pathology and Radiology) to expand, improve or setup after hours services within the NSML catchment area. Each applicant can access grants of $10,000 to $40,000 (GST Inclusive) for any one project. The total grant funding pool is $200,000.
The application process is open from 7 February 2014 and closes on 28 February 2014. An independent panel will review all applications and grants will be allocated on a competitive basis to improve equity, effectiveness and availability of after hours primary health care.

Applications may include, but are not limited to:
Extended existing practice opening hours
Increasing capacity of existing after hours services
Improving quality or comprehensiveness of after hours services (e.g. expanding the scope of primary care services available by introducing after hours practice nurse service)
Implementing a scheme to track and manage patients who are frequently presenting after hours
Implementing an improved after hours visiting model for local aged care facilities, or other initiatives designed to target a local populations specific after hours needs
New after hours services being set up to address the lack of available after hours primary care services in parts of the Northern Sydney Medicare Local catchment area including:
  • Hunters Hill LGA
  • Ku-ring-gai LGA
  • And other areas of NSML demonstrated by applicants to be lacking available after hours services
